Another beautiful song which I happened to hear at Lama was Hoof and Horn. I include the lyrics below and a recording of Eloisa Ramos giving it her all. :)
Interestingly, I have heard other versions of these and the version presented below seems to be two different songs, "Hoof and Horn" and "We all come from the goddess", which has been changed to "we are one with the goddess" in the lyrics below, and a goddess chant. Personally, I much prefer this version, as the two parts flow seemlessly into one another and "we are one with the goddess" contains a longing for unity I think can be found deep within most people.
My deep thanks to Ela, who consents to be recorded for this page. I always like to be able to hear the melody of the lyrics that I’m reading and Ela has a great voice for this.
Hoof and Horn
Hoof and horn, hoof and horn,
All that dies shall be reborn.
Corn and grain, corn and grain,
All that falls shall rise again.
We are one with the goddess,
And to her we shall return,
Like a drop, of rain,
Flowing to the ocean.
Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecate,
Demeter, Kali, Inanna.
Hoof and horn, hoof and horn,
All that dies shall be reborn.
Corn and grain, corn and grain,
All that falls shall rise again.
We are one with the goddess,
And to her we shall return,
Like a drop, of rain,
Flowing to the ocean.
What a beautiful voice! And a wonderful rendition of a truly Goddess-Graced Chant. Thank you so much.
