About Me

The short version (otherwise known as "The Twitter"): Manchester-based Theology student, spiritual, activist, lifehack, interested in drug law reform, LGBT rights, Liberal Democrats, sustainability and geekdom.

The slightly more informative version (otherwise known as "The Facebook"): I am a second-year Theology student at the University of Manchester. I spend much of my time not in class attending meetings, shouting through megaphones, and getting misty-eyed over personal productivity software. I quite enjoy Latin, self-sufficiency, and geeky t-shirts. I rather enjoy reading polling reports, the news, and policy documents, and watching Labour get their buttocks firmly prodded. I very much enjoy making money through passive automated income streams so that I can spend more time on the other things. I like to think I'm slowly becoming successful at all of these.

The long, duller version (otherwise known as "The Resume"):

I'm a second year Theologian, which is fun. I could say loads of stuff about how I'm interested in different cultures and finding out how different people have struggled to answer the meaningful perennial questions like "what is good?" or "Why are we here?", but I took it because I just like it. Theology is just really, really interesting. Might not get me a job, but eh.

I spent my gap year volunteering as a Disability Support Worker at the University of Bradford. This had the happy consequence that I lived on campus, attended lectures, ran student societies and generally lived like a student, but without having to study or take any exams. I was reluctant at first, but I have somewhat fallen in love with Bradford. It's a wonderful city.

I am very interested in social and political activism. The world is full of suffering and injustice, against people, animals and our planet. It is incumbent on all of us to leave this world better than how we entered it. Activism is my rent for living on Earth. Some things matter more to me than others, naturally, like civil liberties, LGBT and disabled rights and drug law reform - I tend to get involved in everything to do with those but still do a fair bit for other causes.

I enjoy activism, cycling, reading, some more activism, especially stuff that combines hanging out with friends and being activisty (attending a picnic in Manchester Airport with my friends whilst protesting Climate Change = win). I also enjoy Latin, self-sufficency, and geeky t-shirts. Much of my time is trying to work out how to make money from my interests so I can devote all my time to them.
